Dawn & Karol’s wedding at the absolutely incredible Ardoe House Hotel in Aberdeen, Scotland was an absolute dream. This was actually my first time in Scotland and I certainly wasn’t disappointed. It’s such a beautiful place and it turned out to be a lovely day for the weather. The day stared off a little chilly at first but the sun came out late into the morning and we ended up with a beautiful day for this Scottish wedding in autumn.
Ardoe house is a 19th century mansion house with 30 acres of tranquil Aberdeenshire countryside surrounding, it really is truly stunning. I’ll be honest when I first arrived coming up the long driveway, I thought it was a castle! Apparently it was Inspired by the royal residence at Balmoral Castle. All I do know is that it’s a spectacular venue and certainly provides the perfect setting for a wedding! In the morning I arrived at Ardoe House to meet one very excited Dawn getting ready in one of the many lovely bedrooms. The first thing I noticed after setting my bag to one side was Dawn’s incredible dress hung up in the room! After spending a bit of time with the girls I left to go and find our ver nervous groom; Karol who was getting ready down stairs in another bedroom.
Wedding Ceremony at Ardoe House Hotel
The wedding ceremony and reception was held in the lovely Ogston Suite with stunning views looking out over the grounds just to the side of Ardoe House. From a photography point especially it’s perfect as the natural light from the floor-ceiling windows is just gorgeous so It certainly gets a thumbs up from me with that in mind.
After the ceremony was finished we headed out for congratulations, hugs and confetti! Dawn and Karol both wanted a very relaxed feel to the day and so we didn’t have a huge list of group shots but as some of Karol’s family had traveled from abroad for the wedding it was only right to include them in some of the family groups as it’s not often you get the family all together.
