I’m finally getting round to blogging this pretty special wedding! Photographing Gia & John’s wedding at Dorfold Hall was definitely one of the highlights of the season. It really was the perfect day and I know these two had a wonderful day. On the same day as the royal wedding I have to say I’m glad to have been a part of this magical wedding with Gia & John along with their incredible family and friends. The royal wedding had nothing on this 😉

Spring Wedding at Dorfold Hall

The venue for the day was Dorfold Hall, a stunning exclusive wedding venue close to Nantwich / Cheshire. I had been eagerly awaiting the chance to photograph at Dorfold for quite a while so I was really excited when the day finally came and I was truly blown away when I arrived. The weather was pretty magnificent too, which certainly helped for drinks, canapés and garden games later on in the day.

Gia was getting ready in the King James Bridal Suite, the rooms inside Dorfold are just as stunning as the outside, steeped with history and restored beautifully I almost couldn’t believe my eyes. I had arrived just at the right time to find Gia and the bridal party making a start on getting ready with Hair being done by the talented Becky Thow and Makeup by Rachel from Fair of Face.

Dorfold Hall Wedding Photography

Here are some of my favourite photographs from the day.

John and the Groomsmen were getting ready at a nearby hotel and arrived at Dorfold looking rather good, I’m sure you’ll agree and not long after guests started arriving. The weather being so lovely meant everyone was able to relax before the ceremony and explore some of the grounds.

Wedding Ceremony in the Coach House

The Coach House, which sits in the shade of a 1000 year old tree. It’s a really beautiful setting for the ceremony and provides the perfect location for a romantic and intimate ceremony. There is a balcony at the back too that provides a great vantage point for photographs.

Couple portraits in the gardens

My approach for portraits with couples is natural, relaxed and based around very little posing. The grounds at Dorfold Hall are perfect for this as I’m able to let my couple have some time alone whilst I photograph from a distance giving just a little bit of input if nessasary.
