Why I love this photograph?

I know, I promised to post more of these! I have been so caught up with photographing some absolutely amazing couples over the last month that I just haven’t had the time to blog. Anyway.. onto the why I love the photograph.

This image was taken at David & Helens fantastic wedding in Leeds last month. It was only my second wedding of the year and I had so much fun being part of such an incredible day. Not to mention that both David’s and Helens family and friends were incredibly kind and welcoming whilst I mingled during the day. They were all party animals when it came to the evening though!

As a documentary wedding photographer this moment really shows what I’m looking to capture on a wedding day. Fun, laughter and people having a bloody good time at a wedding. But I also love the serious face of the little girl who doesn’t have a clue what’s going on. For me this is an absolutely magical moment captured at the wedding. Completely natural and unposed with no input from me at all and without disturbing what’s going on.

I feel so lucky to be able to photograph these incredible moments at such a special event. I’m so grateful for each and every one of my couples for allowing me to be part of the wedding day and create a story of the day. I photographed all day with David and Helen and I have some absolutely incredible images to share on the full blog soon so make sure you check back soon to see the highlights of the full wedding.

Please do get in touch if you are looking for a documentary wedding photographer.
